Smarty EGT's WOW and other smarty questions.
Guys do you run extremely hot EGT with smarty stacked? On level #2 and quad on 30 I hit 1500 way too quick, I can barely punch it to go around another car (I had a trailer on, will unhook tomorrow to play some). Is it supposto do this that quick? My Pyro is tapped on the top of the manifold.
So guys, what levels of smarty smoke the most? (so I can stay away from them!) I haven't gone past #4. Its incredible the throttle response I get even on #2 stacked with my quad on 30HP. That power feels much more powerfull than with my quad box alone on 100 HP.
also they guy a bought it from said that it had "mild torque management" loaded, how can I tell this? I think the load screen said 4.11, what other info do I need?

If it said 4.11 it will be the Wild torque management. 2.11 is mild, 3.11 is moderate. Stacking will make things toasty. But with my setup I still can't get past 1350*, maybe you're either running out of fuel causing the high egts or you need more turbo now.

Hmm so wild torque management would be sudden death to my stock trans.... I'm probably running out of fuel, my pressure light comes on super quick.... I will get fuel pump...
So what numbers do I need to tell for sure whats on my smarty, and how do I go about changing the software? I don't have the USB cable....

What kind of Quad box are you running? I hope it is a newer programmable one an it has the pressure only tune with boost fooling on it. Something dosen't sound right.

Well you're gonna need to get a USB cord in order to download any of the files you would want on your truck. I'm not sure on the numbers by memory, but if you could tell me what the smarty says when plugged into the truck i can tell you for sure.
And yes wild torque management can be devastating on your truck if you're not careful. Keep on a low level..

If your Quad is the X2, then load up the pressure only tune and use that with SW#3, your temps should be better.
SMARTY on SW#2 has no additional timing, and timing is the key to controlling temps.

Ah, that's what I thought. Send the Quad in and have it upgraded to the X2. It is well worth the effort. I personally wouldn't use that box in a stack unless it had the pressure only tune. Bad things happen if you do it wrong......

HMMM i need to call the dealer that stuck them in for me and see if they can tell me exactly what they are.... They are supposto be small, I think the forman told me 40HP. I'm fixing to go unstack them and see what smarty alone does, I will also get the version information for yall.
remember I was towing an empty trailer with the numbers I posted.

That is not correct. The old 4.11 tunes could be loaded with different levels of torque management - they were still all 4.11 software.
