Don't look at the peak numbers when you compare the two. Look at the area under the curve. That's where the smarty is really designed to shine.

They all work under the curve and the only way the manufacturer can prove that is with a dyno chart.

It seems like everyone who is itching to get one of these is going on the 2nd gen experience. Other than customer service (which is important), there is nothing about the 2nd gen product that applies to the 3rd gen. They are totally different animals.

I believe what BB was saying take a look at other boxes HP and TQ curves. I believe they spike at a certain point, where as the SMARTY has a great increase across most of the HP/TQ range.

That is what it was on the 2nd Gen's and I believe it will be the same on the 3rd gens as well, if MARCO holds true to his great programming skills. haha

I think you're fooling yourself if you don't think the Smarty will have peaks. You are comparing the 2nd gen product to the 3rd gen. The capabilities of the two are completely different.

I understand that and the smarty for yall's will have peaks. BUT, where it's going to really shine is how fast and hard it brings you up to peak. If you've never driven a smarty equipped truck then it's hard to describe what it's like. It might peak out around the same as the bully dog or whatever but where your really gonna notice it is on the bottom end. I have a feeling that it's going to come on so much harder, faster, and sooner that it's literally going to rip the guts out of anything that's stock.

No, not fooling myself, as I have had a SMARTY, I know what I am trying to say, just prolly not getting it across with words.

I know there is a peak, other wise it just rises and rises. haha

BB said it best about how it feels.

How the power comes on really isnt an issue on trucks with Manuals. Your in and out of the gears so fast it doesnt present me any problems on a stock truck. I'm more after the HP number not the quickness of the fueling. I'd be all over the Smarty if I had an auto BUT since I'm pretty much the worst canidate for the Smarty I may have to pass because of the low HP output, and the lack of need for quicker fueling curve, and TQ managment.

Its sounds like Marco hit the ball out of the park for most of you with 04.5+ autos but for me with my 03 six speed, the ball fell short.

I hope I get proven wrong since Im still stock and have been waiting for this for 2 years and just been let down

P.S 50 HP is a HUGE difference so dont tell me 130HP ivs 170HP is OK. Thats like comparing stock to an EZ.

170 vs 130 is 40 hp and given that the injectors on an 03-04 and an 04.5 and up are different would probably account for most of that. Anyone who is stock and is upset because they are only getting 130 vs 170 needs to start modding and stop complaining. I have 165 hp injectors on my 03 and you would have a hard time finding injectors for an 04.5 and up that would gain you over 90hp. The 04.5's and up have better injector tips stock than 03-04's....check out the posts. You can't get the same power with lesser performance fuel flow. The 04.5's get more power to start because of better injection. Once you mod the fueling they will obviously get more out of it. Get yourself a set of Flux 1's and you will have more Hp with the Smarty than the 04.5's will with stock injectors. Luken got 659 hp with stock injectors and a triple stack on the stock CP3 pump. The 03-04 injectors will not get anywhere near that. ks

No offence taken WAP....some boxes still have boost fooling inplace when off. Sometimes the order of the boxes in their connections make a huge difference. If I was Luken...I wouldn't change a connection...He's found the right setup with what he has. ks
