No, you didn't waste your money. Unless your using the aftermarket turbo program you'll need a boost fooler.

You'll see higher boost numbers without throwing codes. Once you get above 38-39 psi your turbo isn't going to be efficient FYI. I haven't seen any higher than that with mine though.

After I bought the boost fooler I than read that the smarty did boost foolling on after market turbo program. If I switched to this program would it act like the factory program (smoke) except for boost fooling? If so then I would just sell the boost fooler.I like the smoke levels on the factory program.

You'll have the same/similar smoke levels with the boost fooler. I'm not sure about using the aftermarket turbo program since I've never used it.

Is anybody running the "aftermarket turbo" Smarty software and still using a stock turbo?

Will this throw any codes or damage the stock turbo?

I'am using aftermarket turbo /stock injector program seems to work great, i see as high as 40psi on wot but usually hold it around 30. Have been using this for about 5k and have not seen any codes what so ever. As to will it damage stock turbo my answer is i hope not cant see it being any different than a boost fooler which has been used by many without complaints as far as i know

I have the 2006 running moderate with after market Turbo so I could remove the Boost Fooler. I can get 43 PSI but it drops fairly fast. It almost acts like I wanted it to with a 43-43 PSI limit, but I an not sure If that's true or not. I have to find a long steep hill to mash it on to see if it will go to 45.. I DO NOT like to go over 42-43 PSI! I think 40 is just right for the stock turbo for a max.

Things I noticed different between w/o the Quad B/F and With it (while running stock injectors stock turbo SW) Shifting at high rpm the rpm would not hang (act like my foot was still on the peddle) when using the Quad Boost Fooler....

Running with out the Quad Boost fooler (and now with the non stock turbo s/w) The throttle feels stuck when driving hard and shifting at 3K.
I try to keep an eye on it. This is no fun!

Maybe Marco can dial that out. I think it;s to protect your cat. The problem seems significantly reduced almost eliminated when using the Quad Boost Fooler.

On a long trip I did not want to have to take it off if I broke down... Just unloading the Smarty was all I want to do.

The Quad will over boost my turbo for sure. 50 PSI easy. So watch it! The Smarty SW for after market turbo seems easier to keep at 42 PSI max. But then theres the shifting problem with the RPM "sticking" (note stock dodge ECM s/w with out the QUAD Boost Fooler does the same thing. so it's not a Smarty problem!) I just noticed the Quad helped eliminate it.

Can't you gain a little psi by plugging the waste gate control hose? What are the side effects?
