Need a little more info....

What Smarty do you have? Sr. or Jr.?

Either case, I would not go over the 100 HP setting with a stock tranny.

Also, do you have gauges installed?

With my Toyo mt's @ 35 & my built tranny I set the Smarty @ sw# 7 for every day driving sw# 3 for towing under 10K But I monitor the gauge readings

I wouldn't go over 60hp with those big shoes and a stock trans. I left my truck completely stock 'til I got my trans goodies...

Now I roll on Level 9 most of the time.

um did you use the smarty to update your speedo with the new tire size? with 35s and stock tranny i had mine on 90hp everyday. worked fine, was fun too. tc never shuttered or anything. now when i swapped trannies for the goerend, the fluid was alittle burnt.. but hey what do you expect. looked like it was the stock fluid.

I just have the valvebody upgrade and I'm running on the 100 hp setting on the Smarty Junior. I don't beat on it, but everything seems good and the transmission doesn't act up. I am saving up for a Goerend triple disc converter though. Probably will get one in the next couple of months. I ran on the 70 hp tow setting till I did the valvebody.

I'm running 35" Toyo MTs and to get the speedometer dead on with the GPS at 70 MPH, I set the tire height setting at 33.25".

I run mine on 90hp with the smarty sr. and have no troubles at all. trans works just fine, but I dont go beat on the trans because I know what will happen. But as soon as I get some trans upgrades I will be running sw9.

what you need to consider is the level of torque management, pick one geared towards a stock truck and take it easier on the tranny, power comes on a bit slower, and gives a break during shifts
