smarty advanced timing vs no timing

what is the difference in advanced timing and no timing?

Advanced increases cylinder temp, burns fuel More efficiently, reduces smoke, and better mpg.

agreed you have to play with the timing my truck likes timing 3 way better than 2 and on 4 it pops 1 is ok but 3 made it really come alive with the smarty on 7

Yep, but on a 04.5-07 CR the timing advance really increases low load, pre-boost smoke. It has to do with the piston design.

The 04.5-07, (and the 03-04 but not as much), has retarded timing for emissions reasons. The injection timing was optimized for clean exhaust, not most efficiency. Smarty timing is how it should have been from the factory.

No.. on a 04.5+ you need timing.... Thats the best feature of the Smarty. I run SW1, which is timing only...

SW3 was tons of smoke until I bumped the timing and dropped the POD to 75.
