I don't know how yall stand the cold. The windchill here is in the 20's with north wind at around 20mph currently....i thought my face was gonna freeze walking NORTH to the mail box. ridiculous!
FYI for you northerners, if theres ice, sleet, or snow, everything in Texas shuts down. the majority of texans can't drive in the snow!

That's funny............cause the majority of Edmontonian city folk around can't drive in the summer, nevermind in the snow and ice. You couldn't move anywhere around here a few days ago due to the number of collisions. The city ran out of emergency service personnel to respond to all the calls.

I was in Washington DC about 12 years ago, they got about 2 inches of snow,,, well they shut everything down,, and I mean everything. I was in a course and everybody in the course wanted to ride with me in my rental cause I wasnt bothered by the little skiff of snow,, lol

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
I used to line in the northern US and saw many days with highs in the sub zero temps, I have goten very used to living in the Desert Southwest now. I am sure the way we talk about not being able to handle your freezing temps, the same would hold true for you spending the summer here where I am with many days of 100°+ temps.
Just how hot are summers in Canada?

The funny thing is that I find I'm almost immune to temperature now, you go from -30 outside, wearing long underwear, 2 pairs of socks, jeans, t-shirt, sweat shirt, light coat, and insulated coveralls with a toque and a mask and a set of gloves inside a pair of mitts , and you jump in a truck or machine and your way overdressed but somehow the body adjusts, because 25 minutes later your back outside and giving her heck. In the summer I love 100 degrees, I don't even crack a sweat but that's probably because there's no humidity. The hottest I've ever seen was in Houston about 5 years ago, it was over 110 for a week, I think the high hit 114, it was like breathing through a hairdryer, and I would sweat like a pig. I didn't really like that...but I don't really like -40 either. 88F, shade, cold corona with a lime, and something to tinker with and I'm a happy man....I going to go turn the heat up in my garage to 88 and the rest I've got covered.

Long story short, it's a warm dry westerly wind blowing off the mountains that I've personally seen raise winter temps by 40 degrees Celsius in a few short hours.
Imagine going from -25C to +15C in a short period of time... you started your day heavily layered in winter coats etc., and by the end of the afternoon you're in shirtsleeves. It's really something else.

Mmmm, maybe not. Have you ever heard of a weather phenomenon in Southern Alberta (mostly around Calgary) known as a 'Chinook'?
