You think I'm excited now... I was blown away with how much power the XZT makes! All I hear about is how crazy the truck will run with a smarty on it. Besides, I'm still under warrenty so the Smarty just seems like the best way to go.

Well on my truck the 4.3 was definatly the tamest.....felt like a regular smarty...hence towing and mileage.

4.4 was next, felt a touch stronger than the 4.3....but was WAYYY too light on the street.

4.2 is raunchy, and now that I stack pressure on top of it.....well lets just say that it makes the standard smarty feel like I left it on #1....LOL

So on 4.4 if sw#1 is roughly 150hp, what on earth are the other settings???

very curious as this would help me get my new clutch quicker. :-)

They will definitely get you a new clutch quicker, no doubt about it.

The other settings are not much different, supposedly only how that power is delivered. Every truck seems to respond to the programs differently too... Some trucks dyno sw9 lower than sw3 for instance... fuel delivery and capability has a lot to do with that. Meaning folks with aftermarket lift pumps and modded cp3s can fully utilize the sw's better. In my truck, I feel little, if any, difference between sw5 and sw9.

Quick question. Does it hurt to drain the rail on a stock truck? Example, my truck is stock except muff delete and CAI. And of course the Smarty. So i'm sure running hard on Sw9 will drain the rail right? Does this hurt the motor or just doesn't get enough fuel there for you don't see all the potenial...?

Draining the rail isn't near as bad as what your doing to the CP3 if you don't have a good LP. You need to be more concerned w/ LP pressure.

not completely true. draining the rail, drops the pressure to the injectors, giving a poor spray pattern. that will dramatically raise cylinder temp. which in turn melts pistons. you dont really want to go low enough in the rail pressure to experience "popping"

So I shouldn't run it too hard on sw9 and/or beta 4.4??

i dont think you could drain the rail with the smarty alone. you'd need aftermarket injectors to do that.

you will however drain your input pressure (at the CP3 inlet) to 0psi if you only have the stock lift pump and are heavy on the throttle. this is bad if done repeatedly as it will cause lubrication issues in your fuel starved cp3.
