Smarty...

what is the difference between a normal smarty and the beta smarty programs?

normal smarty- your tranny will last a bit longer

beta- DEAD tranny!!

that is if you have an auto.

The Bete Smarty seem to have a bit more power than the others.

Beta software typically means it's in the testing phases and could have a glitch not yet identified and fixed. Standard release software has typically been through the beta testing phase, debugged and is usually not as radical.

You will have to contact Bob Wagner for the beta's. And the beta 4.4 will kill your stock clutch.

Sw1 makes roughly 150 hp vs 30 hp on the standard

And depending on which beta you have....4.2, 4.3, or 4.4

4.2 is the strongest and regarded as a race program
4.3 is towing and mileage
4.4 is all around goodness.

All softwares gave me better mileage and lower egt`s, but i run the 4.2 for the shear fun.

Sorry to disagree, but 4.3 is definitely not towing and mileage... WILD TM = very sensitive throttle and not too good for towing. Way too much smoke for towing too.
4.4 was originally billed by someone for towing and mileage-- but it gives too much power for that as well... I do agree it is all around goodness though...

so is there any cost to get the beta software? Seems like I see SMARTY with the beta 4.4 on it in a number of sigs...

Were running the 4.4 and have the 4.2 but bob recomended the 4.4 so thats what we used and love it. As for cost their is none, buy you will have to twist bobs arm for it I know I did.
