I have been running the Smarty on lv. 7 (w/timing). I played with it for a day, then topped off the tank and have driven very conservatively in hopes of seeing some mileage improvement. Tomorrow I will fill up the truck and post mileage results for my first tank w/Smarty. Then I plan on putting it on the "economy" setting, and see how that does for mileage.
As far as driving is concerned, I love my truck w/Smarty. I don't mind the touchy pedal at all, in fact I enjoy it. The only problem that I have is that my truck won't fuel it at WOT. Hopefully I can put a Walbro pump on soon to cure that problem.
Marco, and Bob too, I think you have released a great product, and I'm stoked to see what you are able to release to improve it.
Cheers, Dave

973604x4,
See, you must understand one important point.
We're right now to version X.02 for the CR performance softwares. With the VP ones we're up to X.07.
New softwares will be released quiet often until we'll meet at least 95% of the customer satisfaction. Well, also my ego..
I believe what makes us @ MADS different is exactly that. We try HARD to listen to our customers needs / likes / dislikes, and do changes then accordingly.
Furthermore, I'm FAR from done with the CR software development. Speed and rev limiters come to mind for example. New updates will be required...
Sure not everything tested with a "few" test trucks works then flawless in the real world but we're always here ready to LISTEN and fix...
Have a nice one.

Marco and Bob,
All I can say is thanks and thanks again. I love my Smarty and each and every update has been great. I can't believe how many of my concerns were answered in the first update. I sat on the fence for a long time, mainly because of warranty issues, but I said what the hell. The Smarty has given me all the tools I wanted in a programmer. But, the number one reason I went with the Smarty and will always stay with the Smarty is, customer service. Hands down, that sold me on the Smarty.
Thanks for all your hard work,
Sid

i borrowed a smarty for a weekend and was very impressed with it. packaging, ease of install, downloads, driveablility, power, smoke, all very great. I have had an edge ez, quad standard, race, and smarty. the smarty made the most power, both low and high. I didnt get an opportunity to tow with it or to spend too much time with it as my clutch is shot. once I get a clutch, I will be buying a smarty. It also stacked good with my quad. I set the smarty of #6, and used the quad as the tuning box.

2 other DTR members have been in my truck and 1 guy had it on his....they comment and note the same things i do. It's not just me...its not just my truck....my buddy experienced it on his truck too.
Granted, I had my Smarty on another members' truck tonight (note he has a 6speed) and he LOVED it. infact we apologize to the residents of College Station for the smoke cloud possibly still lingering over the city
Here's my problems:
Tranny shifting is jumpy and violent. I realize thats partly due to my tight DTT converter but modules don't do that to my truck....that newer bullydog versions do it also but not near as bad.
several times now i have layed into while cruising and it won't downshift when it should......it holds that gear and doesn't go anywhere in a hurry...its an awful lag.
tranny hunts gears...once again modules don't do that...and once again newer bullydog versions do the same. Its just not my tranny either...my buddy's 06 stock tranny doesn't like the bullydog either.
cruising a long at 45 in college station with steady throttle...suddenly truck accelerates to 60 and then starts crusing again and i never moved my throttle foot....anyone explain that to me?
Brakes feel different. Quickly getting off the power the brake pedal feels as though it won't go down....But other times its normal. Brakes sometimes tight and touchy and sometimes aren't. Not even sure if that is Smarty related but it has occured while using the Smarty.
couple of times i had a "dead pedal"......tranny went to shift but the computer got confused and pedal was dead for a second until the computer figured out what gear to use. that happened three times now.
when it downshifts for me to pass on the highway...it revs to 3400rpm. stock is 3100. I don't like that....plus it doesn't even sound healthy. sounds like an entirely different truck. That can't be good. the member "boarbuster" can verify these noises.
Sometimes when accelerating from a stop the turbo lites and it spins and by-God it GOES. other times, it leaves a huge smoke cloud and never really takes off.
SMARTY on level 9 the whole time. Still think Crazy Larry had more power when you really get on it....which could make sense since
the smarty doesn't utilize fuel pressure to make power. The smarty does have more power down low.
I know my buddy loved it on his 6 speed. Maybe he will chime in here....but my 2 auto friends understand and have experienced my concerns.

im one of the guys who borrowed the smarty and i loved the power, im not gonna lie, but it just doesnt seem like something you would put on an everyday driver, it justs seems a little rough, bully dog feels like its a factory upgrade while smarty makes all kinds of strange nosies and kind of shady, well not shady but justdoes things i wouldnt expect out of a reprogrammer im not trying to knock on it, just think some things need to be fixed before i reccomend it to friends to put on a daily driver
