To Be Smart Or Not To Be?
Gentlemen,
I bough another Cummins finally and check this out.....I bought it three days ago while in Iraq on a deployment and right now I'm in Qatar on my way home for R&R. I haven't got to see it or drive it in person. I need help with whether or not to remove the current edge box off of it and just run the Smarty or can I stack. I'm going to buy the Smarty POD and want to know if I should remove the edge and just sell it or keep both. From what I understand this particular edge is the one with just a switch with three positions to change performance tunes. Anyways here goes what I know about my truck without seeing it in person to know exactly what's on it: 2004 2500, 4x4, CC, LWB, ATS Auto Trans w/co-pilot, 315 tires, Artic Air Twin Turbos, FASS, Aftermarket injectors (have no clue what kind), aftermarket straight exhaust, aftermarket driveshaft, etc. I'll be home later this week to see what all is on it. Whoever the previous owner was took such good care of this truck it's unreal...I'd like to meet him if he's a member of the DTR to ask some questions.

Well it sounds as though you got a great head start providing everything that was done was done properly. Don't know much about the edge boxes but I think if it's a pressure only box you can stack it with the smarty....someone please correct me if I'm wrong!!! If you got a good deal on your new ride I say kudos to you. Welcome back to the wonderful world of the Cummins.

Thanks for the info guys..
Jhenson, I feel like I got a GREAT deal on the truck. It's immaculate, has 80k mi and I paid $20k for it with all that work already done. Supposedly Relentless Diesel in Texas did all the work. Like I said the original owner really knew how to take care of it as I'm told according to my Dad. He's been driving it and says it's in perfect shape...I can't wait to get home and drive it. Sorry bout all the story stuff, I'm just excited to have a great Cummins diesel again.
I ordered the Smarty POD last night and I'll prob just take the edge off of it because I think the Smarty will provide all the smiles and power that I desire from a truck. I think that safety and longevity of the truck is more important to than all out power so I doubt I'll be stacking right now. It's going to be my daily driver and hauler so I don't want to push my luck.
