Sled Pullin' Classes?
So im facing a dilemma. I want dual CP3's for the reliability of 2 stockers, but I am not sure of the sled Pulling classes and how strict they are in adhering to the rules. If i get duals and thats going to put me in a class where im up against double overtime or big bad dodge...... then thats definately a deal breaker. I also plan on twin turbos and 37-39in tires, if any of that matters. Can someone explain the classes and rules to serious sled pulling. BTW i'll be in California after July if that changes anything.

Our class around here allow dual cp3's in the smaller classes but when you get up on a national level no they don't allow dual ones. If you run dual plan on running aganist some very hot trucks. Same thing goes with twin turbos there isn't really many classes that allow street trucks with twins. So if you run twins again your gonna be running in some bigger classes. The bigger tires I can't remember or not but think there is a rule somewhere about being smaler than 35inch. If you put 40inch tires on your truck you might as well sit and watch on the side lines imo. You'll see alot of carnage with huge tires and it's harder to compete aganist the other guys.

Yeah i have hooked up to a truck with 44s and for that reason he thought he was Billy B. A. I pulled him all across the parking lot. thanks. I'm not gunna compromise on the twin turbos, so i guess i might as well just get duals as well. I dont plan on going to the national level. I'm just talking about local where i will be. In North and South Carolina, everywhere ive been so far its just run-what-you-brung, and is broke into weight classes. also i plan on having highway tires and pullin tires, different sizes if need be.

yes I am kind partial to the STS but alot of guys are. They are just doing real well, constantly my buddies vp truck is putting a couple ft on me, and on soft tracks he is putting some good distance on me since they just don't dig but also bite hard. Thornbird? You talking about super swamper if so those are gonna dig and bite very hard and might cause you a better chance of breaking. The claws do well if they are wore down pretty good but still like to bounce on the harder tracks. The STS's are a good tire and I think they just set of the look of most trucks. How many times a year do you plan on pulling?

You think STS look goofy and you want Thornbirds those by far are the worst tires made by any manufacture ever, would be better off with old wooden tires
