Single turbo w aftermaket intercooler

Ok who is running a single turbo with an aftermarket turbo. Id like some details on the intercoolers. Are they worth doing? HP gains? EGT drop? Towing ???


Also who has added in an exh manifold. Did that help with the EGTs & performance?

Please only those who have first hand experience. Thanks Im looking for real numbers not opinions.

Not trying to sound like a broken record here (I posted this a few days ago in another thread). In my case I never get over 1200* and I leave tha edge on lvl 2 for towing and lvl 5 around town. That is with both of Banks intercooler and intake. I do have a few other mods (see sig) but over all everything I have done works real well together and I have no complaints. As far as gains I dont think you gain much except the lower egts with this setup I have but I cannot post any exact change as I did most of the mods at the same time. Only problem is burning up my clutch (had 32,000 miles on it at the time) within hours of getting the edge on while doing 15lbs boost, 4x4 launches with the juice on lvl 5. It does wake it up. That really wasnt a complaint as I wanted the wife to giv up tha dough to by a SBC Dual Disc anyway and it was totally my fault. And truly it does still work and I did use the truck to pull the trailer 500 miles with it slipping slightly and its not out yet even after it smelled like I had put it in the insinerator. Is kinda pricey mod though but I dont think you see real gains till you swap turbos. Oh and no mileage gain for me but like I sad I commonly run around on the extreme setting anyway so I didnt really care.

thx. I was kinda hoping someone could tell me the intercooler was worth 200* drop or something like that.

Four wheel parts is where I bought mine but they matched prices with Stylin' Concepts and if you act like your not gonna buy it they will ship it for free. Those salesmen must hate me but they are like car salesmen and just like them I never pay near what they were asking. Always free shipping on my tires. Heck they even price match without checking out the source. If you aint got a consciense then you will get a better deal. Some guys on here were posting about the burst preassures on the banks not being as high as others but I have seen some pretty hot setups and the techni-cooler is still going strong. But I can only speculate about that with the meager setup im currently running.

ok so here is what Im thinkin Im goin to do. After the trans is beefed up and the Rasp pump goes in I'm goin to put in an sps 64 and an exh manifold (make undecided) along with an intercooler (probably BD) then Ill put the Quad box back in (after its upgraded to the race ver) and ill most likely finish it all off with a towing cam (probably Piers as they are local). Im thinkin this will put me somewhere around 500 rwhp if not a bit over.

What do you guys think???

Why don't you forget the RASP pump and use the lobe on the new cam to add a mechanical lift pump from a 94-98 truck and save a pile of money. The rest of the mods look OK.
