I need to mount a cassette player in my '03. The space below the a/c will fit (snugly) a single DIN cage (with the rubber pad removed). Has anyone come across a curved faceplate that would look good? I had planned to mount my gauges in this spot, but the wife has many "books on tape" and would like a cassette player. I already have an aftermarket xm ready radio, so buying a used chrysler combo unit is not an option.

 

This doesn't exactly answer your question but... I'm not sure how cheesy you want to get but since books on tape won't require excellent audio quality you could get a walkman and something like this:

Or your head unit might even have audio inputs on it??? Most new ones have 1 or 2 even?
