Silverline owners with 5" exhaust
Just received a 5" turbo back kit for my truck, and the muffler reduces back down to 4" internally. Can anyone verify this for me. From the searching and PM'ing I have done, Ive been told that theirs is 5" all the way. Silverline Is trying to tell me that they did this because trucks were throwing a check engine light do to not enough back pressure.
Thanks Adam

the turbo should provide all the back pressure you need. for what its worth when my 05 had 5 inch turbo back straight piped it did not set off a check engine light.

Yes, Silverline is just exactly like Magnaflow, it's actually about 3 7/8" ID. Good luck as I had this same fight w/ Magnaflow. They told me their system was not for "highly modified trucks" only "slightly modified trucks" and a 4" muffler was needed to allow the best gains on a stockish truck. I was pizzed off just like you and said a 5" system means 5" all the way; all they offered was my money back, never a true 5" ID muffler.

The silverline 5" system I looked at(because I didn't want my Magnaflow) did have the same muffler, you might want to check yours.
