Silver 62 over S480(80mm S400)

Silver 62 over S480, Anyone running this combo? Second combo is Silver Bullet (66mm) over S480. Trying to put a few things together and figured on a little research first.

Thanks in advance..

A lot of people run a 62 over the S480, but you're gonna need some serious sticks to run a 66 on top.

Thats what I was thinking and I want to stay away from that. Is the gap to large between the 62 and the S480. I have the silver 62 from another project. I could send it in for an upgrade.

Thanks for the input, I will call Nathan to have him put the kit together.

No, the gap is very good between the two. This makes for a very streetable setup.

what size injectors are you running and what does your setup dyno on fuel only with the 480 on the bottom?

I don't mean to sidetrack the thread but its kinda on topic. I was hoping to have my silver62 rebuilt with a 65mm turbine out of a SPS, and then get an II 71mm, which is the equivalent to the smallest S400. I am looking for 700hp on #2 with as fast as possible spool up BEFORE using Nitrous.

Is this a reasonable request?

I am pretty sure the II 71 is on an S300 chassis, someone please correct me if I am wrong. And the 65mm wheel is out of a PS turbo, the SPS have 71mm wheels and the Silver series runs a 74. You would probably be better off to just sell your Silver 62 and buy a phat shaft 62, if you want the 65mm, wheel. You could also get the 12cm housing if you dont want the 14 that you have now.

I too, have a slight hijack.

Is there any reason to choose the Silver 62 vs an HTT 62/71/13?

I know the silver is 62/74/14, but how big of a differance is this when used on top of an S480?

And to get back on topic, I have a friend with a HTT 62/13 over an S480 with stock sticks and just a smarty, mp8 and stage 2 cp3 and he loves the twins, but will soon be installing bigger injectors.

The Reason Why SS housings are used in twin setups is because the have a large dual ported Wastegate. That gives great boost control If your gate your twins threw the top Charger.

How much hp can a HTT 62/71-13 over a S480 safely support without any external wastegates?

Well I did over 900 with a slightly larger top charger and no gate on the bottem. I know the 64/13 spools fast and does over 850 with no problems.

Is there an advantage in a Silver 62 over a PS62 or SPS62 in a twin setup?

i would actually say there is a disadvantage using the silver 62 with twins as opposed to a ps or sps. because the silver 62 only comes in one configuration and is specifically designed to be the best compromise between power, spoolup, and towing, by itself. where as you can get your PS62 or SPS62 anyway you want it to suit your needs. also i think the Silver62 is to laggy for such a small charger especially if used in twins which should be the best of all worlds without having to compromise on anything.......eccept a few meals and college tuitions.
