Show me your Front end replacements!!! Looking for one
I'm trying to decide which front end replacement to go with... I dont need/want a winch (wont have that need at all)... I like the ranchand that is the lighter duty of the two but it just seems like there is more out there. I just dont like anything real boxey lookin. I saw a frontier front end that looked kinda nice, seemed a little more contoured which is what i'm looking for. Also where/how much did you get yours for? TIA

If you do get the Ranchhand, plan on an extra $250 to get it Linex or Rhino coated. That paint doesn't last a single year. $600ish. Five years ago, kinda getting dim.

Howdy,
Actually had the dealer get it when I bought the truck in 2006...leverage. $650 for the guard (Big Tex) installed, and $300 for the Linex job, which they handled. Might have been able to do better by shopping around, but not by much. This way it was on there and the way I wanted when picked up the truck.
On my 04.5, the same brush guard was rusty as all get out after one year, so on this one I had Linex done before installation.
That thing's killed three deer, one of them a 4x5. I've lost a couple of the Lightforce reflectors, but no other damage.

I can't remember the name of mine. I think its a cattlman.... I'm top tired is the problem... ... u can kinds see it in my avatar thingy... that's the technical term. My cell phone, which is what I'm using at the moment, will not let me upload a photo. I've had the bumper on fur 15 months, and its looks just like the day the body shop put it on after I ran into the back of an off-duty police Tahoe carrying 4 off-duty policemen. I hydroplaned at 35 mph. Hit them at just under that speed, and destroyed the stock bumper, while barely scratching the Tahoe. Moral of that story.... body shop charged me $75 for a $700 cattlman bumper!!!!

So i've tried to do further research between the frontier replacement and the summit RH... Called frontier to compare what guage of steel theirs was and they would'nt(maybe just the guy on the phone could'nt) tell me.... I told him well hell if i'm trying to compare whose is going to be sturdier if i hit a deer and you wont even tell me then i'm not going to buy your product. Not to bright on trying to sell their product. Think i'm just gonna go to the RH factory outlet in arlington and try and haggle a deal...

I really like my thunderstruck bumper, I think they are 3x better than RH or anything out there, you can *not* bend these things, especially around the headlights, the RH I can move. Thunderstruck use square tubing.

I found mine off craigslist, got a good deal on it, its off an 04, as you can see the curves under the headlights. Doesn't bother me any really. I've seen them listed from 400-700 on CL I think they are 11-1200 new? Best to call them.

Here's a pic of mine. It's a TDK from up in Moore, Montana about a 2 hour drive from me. This setup was $1734 including powder coating. My new truck will sport one of these too when ever I pull the trigger on it that is.
