Spacers or Coil springs?

What do you guys think of this leveling kit? I know that its only a spacer lift but it comes with 4 blisten shocks. http://www.jackit.com/store/supercart.cgi?s=dg135dx

I have also been doing some searching and see that some guys are having the death wobble with spacers. Would i be better off install the superlift coil springs instead and would they be any harder to install. Thanks.

I'm a spring fan all the way. Spacers do not give you any extra travel. The Superlift springs are just one of many options.

Springs and spacers are just about equal to install, with air tools and a descent set of spring compressors each can be accomplished in about 30 minutes per side (pausing for beer breaks).

As for shocks I'm a bilstein guy all the way!

A competent alignment shop is mandatory to avoid "Death Wobble". Make sure you do that first thing!!

When I added the spacers on my truck, I added some Rancho 9000x's. I leave them adjusted on level 5 (go from 0-9) and the truck rides great. Actually drives smoother than stock IMO with the 35's on.

Not necessarily true, depends a lot on coil spacing. without spacers, you'll never get into coil bind before the bump stops hit. With spacers, you might bind the coils before you hit the bump stops. But I agree, coils are way better than spacers.

Stealth Ram: I dont know about the backspacing but i tried to put a set or 17 inch moto metals on my truck today with 315's, stock height right now, and they wheels would not work I was so p****d off. They wheels hit the brake caliper so they would not fit.

Spring it...

Get the springs and bilsteins... you won't regret it. I fought the death wobble with 315's until I took the spacers out and went to the springs and bilsteins. 50,000 miles later, everything is great. I personally feel the stock shocks are junk, and certainly not up to the task with the 315's added weight.

Guy at rockymountain suspension told me on the phone today to not go with the superlift springs but with the revtek spacers. Are the revtek spacers any good? It seems like all of you say spring are better. Are the springs less likely to cause the death wobble? If not the spacers are cheaper but I have no problem spending an extra hundred bucks for safety. Thanks.

I have spacers and Rancho shocks and have never had death wobble. Les Schwab put on mine and they said you have to do something to the camber or something like that to avoid the wobble. 17000 miles and no wobble, must work.

I have no idea what Lorenz is thinking.....580# coil rate will just about rattle your teeth loose. I'n comparison, the stock coil rate is around 440# give or take a few. I run a 360# coil rate on mine and it rides great. I only paid around $300 for my 6" coils. I've had them for 2 years now and they haven't sagged, which was more than I couold say about the Skyjunker coils I had.

Try coilsprings.com....Coil Spring Specialties can make you a custom 2" coil with a stock or softer spring rate for around $200+ shipping.

CORed and piperca are both running CSS coils, you can PM them and ask what they think.
