Which shocks
I have upgraded to larger tires. I am now painfully aware that the stock shocks are not up to the task. What shocks are you guys with stock suspension and upgreded tires running? I am getting alot of we don't have anything for 2004 trucks yet. Are the 2004 trucks differrent from the 2003 trucks as far as shocks go?
TIA

I've got the rancho RS5000, they aren't Rancho's best shock, but they are alot better than stock. 03 and 04 are the same. 4wheelparts has pretty good sales, keep an eye on them online or by fourwheeler magizine. Hope this helps.

By the way if you go w/ the stock size in rancho shocks and decide to go w/ a 2" level kit they are long enough to cover the added travel.(these are the same shocks they include in their 2" kit)

I just did some checking on shocks, I'm changing to something better and puting on 315 tires.
Bilstein does not make an "official" shock yet, two more months is what they said.
KYB does make one, $132.00 ea. Gas charged..... GREAT shock.
Rancho RS 5000, stiffer than stock, $37.00 ea
Rancho RS9000, can adjust to a bit stiffer than the 5000s or softer, depends on road. $83.00 ea.
Rancho can fit any lift you want. I personally run a 27" (max extension rod) shock on my Jeep. The 9000s have a 30" shock. Think 4" compression and 23" drop......
Hope this helps.

AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, lets see,,, my Bilsteins are working excellent, had them for about two weeks, raised the truck a little, ride is better handling is sweet.....
I know someone on the inside, maybe mine are some of the first....
they are worth the wait
I think the 03's are different than the 04's......
BadBT, hope you are in good health

Bilstein has shocks that work. Have them on my truck which has about a 2" lift up front, stock height in the rear. Also have BFG 315's on. The part numbers are BE5-6681-H5 (front) and BE5-6647-H5 (rear). They work great and are their Premium shocks (5100 series). These are also recommended on "jackit.com" web site.

I want to thank everyone for the replies. I came across agood deal on a set of Rancho RS9000 shocks. I am going to try them as I got a story from Bilstien about it will be several weeks before the proper shock will be available for my truck. I figure at what I am paying for the ranchos I can swap them out and still not be out very much$. I must admit the adjustablilty is attractive to me.
Thanks Jason
Gary,
Thanks for the well wishes. Everything is going quite well. I am feeling better than I have in a very loooong time.
