Shock/spring experts?
Ok so im lowerin my truck to get a little better times at the track. This will be short lived. Its just a phase on the way to a full on baja race suspension. But I figure since im makin a little power now I might as whell see how good I can get my times at the track for a while.
I have access to a some free 1500 2nd gen springs. First are they the same as the 3rd gen? I hear that will get me 2" in front and by machining the rear blocks or makin my own I should be ablt to get 5".
Knowing that I will be jackin it back up after a season of beatin my 6 speed what should I do shock wise. Now when I go up I will be goin with a 3" body king (thats the plan anyway). Will the shock act the same as it would with only a short amount of travel it will be using.
Also if I build some new shock towers and cut the bucket will the 3"ers fit?
Will any of this effect my ability to sled pull? I mean you put blocks in the back while towing sled pulling. The guy that won the diesel power challenge, D'amico (or whatever) was in a low chevy

Get a set of steel wheels with 245's on them. It will lower your truck 3 in. compared to your 35's and you still will not run out of gear in the 1/4. It would be a lot simpler to swap tires than playing with the suspension all the time.
Get a set of 10k lb. ratchet straps and run them from the axle to the frame for races. I used to do something like that when I raced bikes in the 1/4. I strapped the front end to have it pointed down before the launch.

I dont see where it would cause a problem. Everything is still secured via the factory suspension if a strap would fail. I am sure there is a lot more thinking to do about this. What does it do to the pinion angles? What would happen if 1 strap let loose? Is it even possible on our trucks? How does a elephant drink from its trunk and not drown?
I think Mythbusters may need consulted on your delima

I wouldnt trust that frickin owl at all. Look at the way he manipulated that poor kid just to eat his candy. I am sure in more modern times he would be considered a petafile.

Besides that, if they are so smart, why are the spotted owls on the endangered list? Are they the retarded cousin of the barn owl? I could go for a hour about my eternal hatred for retarded owls.
