It seems my truck is belching black smoke more. It has gotten very hot up here lately. Any ideas?

Thanx.

HEAT!!!!

It has been in the upper 90's in NorCal this week and I noticed right away that I smoke WAY more when the temps get above 85*, the closer to 100* the worse it smokes....guess it has something to the effect that warm air is thinner than cooler air so with less air but same amount of fuel you get smoke!!! Might have to back the SMARTY down a notch or two...NNAAAA!!!!

We were just talking about this today, its been 100 degrees here and our truck seem to smoke more. We just figured that since your not getting that cool dense air the truck isnt completely burning quite as much of its fuel. And its not USLD. If anything LSD smoked more.......

Gotcha guys. I am glad others are noticing it. It recently got really warm here, 85-90 degrees.

Thanx.

Yep, heat is your worst enemy. The air going into the turbo is not as dense and then the intercooler isn't as efficient when it hotter also.
