Secondary Fuel Filtration Wanted!

There is no G. There is no G. Repeat after me, THERE IS NO G!
My bad! Having a stressful evening so I probably read into things to much. I was thinking you probably thought I was nuts mentioning under the intake horn to mount the unit. Come to think of it now, that location isn't good. I wonder if relocating the stock fuel/water separator unit to the firewall and putting the secondary unit in stock units original place would work.
Can I ask why you're thinking now under horn is not good for you? Are you considering other additions in that area?

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Don't think that way bud, a good oil filter like a Donaldson in the stock location is fine, not as good as a bypass or a second filter but fine. The added fuel filtration is far more necessary even on stock trucks. The largest # of failures on These trucks is the injectors, and injector related issues can cause damage to other parts aka roasted pistons etc. Get additional fuel filtration first then add extra oil filtration later.

I did the oil first because I was worried about how dirty it gets so quickly. I have done an oil analysis but before the added filtration. I am actually going to do my first one with added filtration on my next change. Which will be the second oil change on the bypass filter. This will help tell me how long I can truly go on change interval.
With that said I should have done fuel first after all the reading of the benefits versus stock filtration. I have actually been changing my 7 micron Fleetgaurd fuel filter a little more often then recommended and so far (knock on wood) I have been good on injectors. I have also run several 5 mic. Baldwin filters.

Me three agree - clean fuel is much more important than an oil bypass kit. You're burning fuel as long as you're driving. No offense to the oil though.
Like Rye said a good oil filter will provide excellent protection for 7500ml intervals and even a couple thou beyond. I use Fleetguard Stratopore 16035 and send in my oil for analysis. I've gotten the A-OK for every 7500 and with confirmation I could take it a little longer. As far as the length of "longer", that would be determined by a slight walk up in interval then OA.
Hey 6spd, I'm going to hijack with some photos here. I hope they can help you too or any others looking for clearance answers in re: GDP MK2. rockcrawler, hope these help.
Note for reference how the hose/fitting lines up at almost halfway on the bolt on the head.

Anyway, I like to stick my arm under the intake from the front of the truck to put my wrench on fuel filter cap. Easier for me at least.

Thanks for everyone's help. Now I just to decide which filtration system to buy. To achieve my goal of having fuel enter the aftermarket system before entering injection pump, I will have to install under intake horn without making a lot of modifications. I will write back later on which brand I buy.

Im not a fan of putting the fuel filter around the intake horn. To me, just in the way. I added a Raptor 100 fuel pump, it supplies the stock fuel filter housing, then I purchased the universal Glacier diesel fuel filter bracket. Mounted the secondary fuel behind the left fog light, then it supplies the CP3. Then I put amsoil oil filter right beside the secondary filter. Now of the filters are in my way under the hood. The inner fender liner protects them from road debris. When changing them, drop out the bottom with 0 mess. If I had clue how to post pics I would, but computers hate me.

Sur and Han, I am going to pm you guys with my email. If you could provide some pics, that would be great. I am open to ideas.
Sur, that setup looks clean and great! Any problems with it?

Thanks Shorts! Looks like It will not fit but a little fab work and a modified bracket and I can probably make it fit. Will be measuring things today!
