i dont think the ion batterys can take the hit from the starter like the lead batterys. though they do seem to have good charging habits in the cell phones. their sudden inablity to do their job may leave alot of people stranded when the battery goes **** up without warning.

I've got a pair of Optima blue tops in my Bronco for over 5 years now. The truck sits most of the time, and I have had battery issues in the past. I have each battery on a master disconnect, so they are not being killed by parasitic draws while sitting.
I put the P-2's in my dad's F-250 this spring. Great batteries with a great warranty. He's running the marine version in his boat too. My stockers are still fine at 4 years, so I can't justify the $400+ for a new set. I'm sure I could convince the wife if I had her look at the voltage gauge while the grid heater was on.
