Question School the newbie: Smarty?

I have been reading up on the Smarty. I think I am about to pull the trigger and buy one, but I have a question. I already have the Van Aaken 3.2, I havent seen anyone who has stacked them in the searches that I have done, but it seemslike the V.A. stacks well with just about everything. Will there be any issues there?
The other thing that I have been wondering: Can I chose the level I want on the Smarty, unplug it and drive, or do I have to keep it plugged in?

Thanks
D.J.

I can't speak for stacking it with the VA. I wouldn't see why there would be a problem.

The smarty reprograms the ECM so yes, you plug it in... upload which ever software you feel you're comfortable with and unplug. To change to another software then yes, you have to plug it back in to upload it.

From what I understand about it, a box that does fueling well a long with timing would be a good stack for the smarty

SMARTY is good. It plays well with the VA 3.2 aS stated by a lot of members running that stack. I ahve a Banks 6 gun and will sell it eventually to get a VA 3.2 to run with my SMARTY..

SMARTY is a programmer, you plug it in while truck is off. Download 1 of the 10 programs that is stored, then you unplug it and store it somewhere, I use the console under the middle front seat to store mine..

Thanks guys for the imput.

If there are many DTR members with the SMARTY/VA 3.2 stack, I didn't find their post in my searches. I wanted to make sure that since the 3.2 is a timing box, that it would be ok with the SMARTY. I found a few who posted a SMARTY/VA 3.1 stack, but as I understand, the 3.1 is a pressure box, and the 3.2 is a duration.

Thanks for your patience schoolin the Newb.

Why would this be a good stack? The Smarty is timing and duration, the VA3.2 is duration. You will have no pressure to get things moving.

Oh, I agree. But if you talk w/ anyone at II/Floor it, they will tell you maximum amount of duration above 20,000 psi will put you into the real #s on the CRs.

Well now I am really confused. Is it a good stack, or not? If I buy the SMARTY, should I sell the 3.2?
