Scheid Lightning Turbos?

You really don't hear too much about them. Does anyone know anything about them? I'm considering a turbo now (thanks madhat) as soon as the transmission get taken care of. As soon as madhat gets his 64 on I can get a better idea on what I plan on buying. What's the word?

I think there are alot of better options out these days. You can make 650+ with a good set of sticks and a 64/71 turbo from II or HTT

They got a lot of different ones. Some are good up to 550hp and some 550+. They don't show any specs on them as far as wheel or turbine size. Do they have any other features to them that could be better than the competition?

You're welcome...

What's up with your tranny? I know a guy that's got a good one...

We'll know next weekend.

A stocker/s400(74) will support 600+hp. Spool is very quick.

I had an A3k turbo and my dad has a 64/65/13ss from HTT. While I liked my 3k and like my dad's HTT even more, neither compare at all to the stocker/s400 set up I have now. My tranny is down right now and so I am using my dad's truck to pull my camper on vacation ( posting from my camper right now ) and there is a big difference in towing from my twins set up. A 64 will make good power and is great at the track, but it doesn't always perform as well in other applications. Not that it is bad, but twins are superior.

Trevor:

Contrary to what is being said here, Scheid Diesel can get you almost ANY aftermarket turbocharger you want from the major turbo manafacturers such as Holset, Garrett or Schwitzer and if there is something "custom" you want I can tell you they can and will do anything for you that any of the other turbo companies can do. As you know, I am running their Twin Turbo set-up and there is no lag with what I have, but I understand you are looking for a single. I would recommend giving them a call.

yeah they build what you want. Buddy called and said he wanted a legal 2.6 charger that would flow as much as possible and they gave him a very reasonable deal almost cheaper then my sps66.
