SBC DD3250 Install
I have a SBC 3250 on the way to my house right now. Just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks for the install. I have pulled trannies in a lot of Jeeps and a couple of trucks but never a dodge. Any hints?
Will the clutch come with instructions for torque specs?

Yes it will come with directions. to make this alittle easier on you. take a jack and pice of wood and jack up the front of the motor just so that the shift tower clears the body better. and this also makes for easier instalation. Also ive done about 6 or 7 of these now and on the 1st one i droped the t-case then the gear box. On all the rest i droped the t-case and gear box as one no need to seprate them.

Well a buddy and I took off work today and got the clutch installed. It's pretty sweet although I'm getting a lot of gear noise in 4th and 5 around 1200-1600 rpm? Is this normal?

I dont know about gear noise atleast with my 3600 it doesnt seem any different at the various rpms.
In general they are noisy but mine never sounded like gear whine.

i installed my 3600 last weekend and i did notice the gear noise. real bad in 5th gear. also ive got increased vibration at an idle. how about yours? not the dual disc rattle but a slight increase in vibration when i let it warm up or come to a stop light. about 800 rpm. above that it goes away.

Not sure about that but my truck is pretty loud with the 6" stack and all so maybe it is there and I never noticed it.
The fluidampr helps smooth out the clutch alot I hear.

I'm not sure if I have more vibration at idle. I definately have more noise with the clutch in and out both.
Is it noisy when the clutch is pushed in since the discs are slipping around the intermediate plate?
Maybe I'll spray some pb blaster in through the access hole in the bellhousing to get it quieted up.just kidding

When you dis-engage your clutch the different discs and floater plate vibrate off one another hence the noise:

I talked to Peter today and he said that he's heard of this before. The new Flywheel is allowing vibration to resonate through the aluminum tranny housing. The original dual mass was damping this. He told me it's nothing out of the normal but not to give it a lot of power in that range. He said it's bad for the tranny.
