SB OFE vs 3250

What are your guys opinions on these clutches? How does the pedal pressure compare to stock? How is the engagement compared to stock? How about the noise when driving? I have a Valair DD and the noise when driving around town in 5th gear is driving me nuts and the pedal pressure is more than I was told it would be. Anything under 2000 rpm is horrible. Even with the Fluid Damper.

My OFE pedal pressure is about identical to stock. Engagement is a little rough and it chirps a bit when it does. No noise at idle.

What about when driving under 1800 rpms in fouth or fifth? Do you have much noise from the transmission compared to the stock clutch?

Like Mega said OFE I can't tell difference than stock in my buddys truck. My SB 3250 is noisy unless out of gear and idling, but going down highway doesn't seem so noisy to me. If you live anywhere near western NC you can drive my truck and see if you think yours is normal. My pedal pressure is a little more than stock but not bad at all. Do a hydraulic upgrade maybe and lower pedal pressure?

No noise from the tranny at all except when the clutch engages and makes a chirpy sound, and thats just when you are stopped.

Thanks for the info. I did the hydro upgrade when I installed the clutch. I was expecting a harder pedal but not quite as stiff as it is. I could deal with the pedal, but the noise from the transmission is what I am getting tired of, especially in fifth gear.

With my dd3250 it is only noisy when you hold the clutch in. (when the plate is loose) I really don't know WHY it would be noisy any other time.

I opted to go dd instead of FE because I haul trailers and was told by south bend not to get an FE

I had the OFE before, which I could not tell from stock. BUT I smoked it in a tug of war.

My OFE is noisiest with the clutch out in neutral, while moving it rattles from idle to about 1300rpms then subsides. You can hear a little more gear noise than stock, but not terrible. I agree I do have a chirp, or shudder when taking off, but I'm used to it now, its about as close to a semi as you can get. Holds great and holds everything when I tow heavy, very satisfied with its performance being I'm about to its rated limit.

i have had an OFE and now have the 3250dd and the OFE pedal is alot harder than the dual disk i have now and the 3250 holds better. the ofe is a 3600lb pressure plate i believe. so that makes it harder i know there is night and day differance in ofe and the 3250 in pedal pressure. the 3250 is the only way to go if your not sled pulling. my 2 cents
