SB DD clutch installed, but i have questions
I've installed a South Bend 3600 LB 12 button DD clutch, The question i have is how much clutch peddle should i have from the floor untill the clutch starts to grab, right now it starts to grab about 1/2 inch of the floor, and the clutch peddle has to be pushed against the floor to release and shift gears, is this normal for a dd?? or are there adustments that need to be done??

You need a 12 valve master and slave cylinder unit.
I run one in my truck. I purchased it from www.enterpriseengine.com they were the cheapest.
Peter sells new master rods that are modified to the correct length to insure that your new clutch will disengage properly.
You can also modify your own rod by cutting and threading it in the center where it is perfectly round and then installling a 3/8" all thread nut.
This will let you have an adjustable master rod, this is the best way in my opinion.
I run the adjustable unit on my truck.
Its been over a year now that I have had this mod done and I forget if it was the 12 valve or the newer master rod we modified for the new setup.
Either way it takes some testing and tuning.

Some go in just fine, some need adjustments from what I hear. Mine releases about 3" from the floor, which is perfect for me... I guess I got lucky.

Does this master rod trick work on the older trucks??
My clutch is really hard to shift consistently...it releases almost at the top of the pedal, but I have to push it ALL the way down to shift. I've got a new slave that I never put in, would that help at all, or should I modify something?
BTW, had the clutch in since Christmas, and about 40K miles so far!
Thanks,
Chris
