I mounted the wired FM modulator switch behind the passenger side kick panel. Also the same location for the standard coax connector.

How did you get the kick panel off and what kind of braket did you use to mount the radio, I have the sportster 4. More pics would be great.

If I remembered correctly the kickpanel just pops out. Start at the thresh plate towards the rear of the door opening and pull up, working your way to the front.
The bracket I used is the same one that comes with the radio. It's multi adjustable and I screwed it to the back of the cubby hole. It's neat and tidy with no exposed wires.
