Which is safer for tranny, opinions wanted..

Hi guys/gals,

I am running Smarty Jr Revo on SW #3 for mileage first and power second. Which is safer on the stock auto tranny/torque converter, tow haul mode, or the standard mode?

I am thinking the Tow-Haul mode might be since the higher line pressures may help the torque converter not to slip (correct me if I am wrong, I am by no means a tranny expert) and provide a little less slippage (planned slip in an automatic, not bad slip) when the torque converter is not locked up. However, that does mean that the torque converter can lock in 3rd as well as fourth gear....

What do you think???

Just go get a valve body and don't beat on it. Do it when the fluid is due to be changed to save some money.

Best Mod I've done so far. I got him to set it up so it shifts a bit on the soft side (but firmer than stock) but keeps pressure up and holds gear to the correct RPM.
