s480 twins

What are you running on top of your s480? Im going to make a set of big twins wondering what is working for others. I have a small set that have been great. But at my hp they can no longer keep up with egts. Im shooting for 1000+ and still be able to use every day. With the electronics of these truck i feel this is a very save hp level to go after. And i feel it can be done with this turbo on the bottom. Just wanting something that will spool ok on the top. Trying to find the best of both worlds.

A 480 will not do 1000 on fuel only . 928 was the most I could do with it. You will need more primary turbo, even some 88s will not do it. If you are content with 900hp a 64/71/13 over s480 with a external gate around the 480 does well. Tim

I to fell short with a 66/13 over top and did 922hp. I think I will be over it with the new setup but it is much larger.

I was wanting fuel only. But im not scared to spray the old girl if need be. I am sure if i sprayed her know she would get close but would kill a turbo in the process! I was looking to run a 66 over the top of the 480! I really thought that would be close to what is needed to hit my goal! Thanks for you input!!! I will be playing with the big dogs soon! I am porting and building turbo this week. Porting is done starting on the turbos wed. s480 will be an 80 to 85 mm.

There is a new extended tip 86mm coming that flows 141lbs/min. That is enough for 1000hp on fuel.

1000 hp fueled daily driver not many around. I'd go with pretty new territory.
As others have said 900+ has been made with 480 and a big secondary. You can't go wrong with that combo.
I run the 64/71/13ss and 480. Egts are very respectable hitting 1250. Steet running 750-850, dynoing 1150.
Spools good, makes very nice power.
