afe makes nice stuff but the afe stage 2 just fit badly on my truck so I sold it. I think the stage 2 flows the best but I agree with you guys it is very expensive for what it is. I went with volant & I wont buy one again either.

I have a Banks Ram Air, and I know what the concensus about Banks products is around here, but I am very impressed with it. The fit is excellent and it is a very high quality kit. I can tell a very slight increase in power and have gained about 1 mpg. The craziest thing happened after I installed it, the overhead actually started telling the truth. It was saying 15.6 before with 14.5 hand calc, and after the cai install it was still saying 15.6, which kind of Edit me off, but after I ran a tank through it and calculated it, the overhead was actually accurate. I say its a great kit, $330, but Banks really is a pain in the Edit to deal with

i have the afe and think it flows way more air than the s&b, just compare size of inlets and filters, love the afe had a s&b and found no better gain than stock airbox with high flow filter.

Do a search for ****** whistler and save your money it flows every bit as good as an AFE and is super inexpensive it sounds better than my AFE Stage II

I think that the MAIN advantages to having an AFE Stage 2 over ANYTHING else out there, minus *****'s Whistler (which we don't have a TRUE CFM/filtration rating on yet to compare against an AFE Stage 2 that I know of...not trying to bash, I just ALWAYS question these things before putting them on my vehicle) and a BHAF is as stated, flow/filtration. I have heard of a FEW Volants, K&Ns and something else out there, crumpling with 50+ PSI setups (which I plan on), so they just weren't for me...Not bashing any products, just for higher hp configurations, they just don't give me the warm and fuzzies like the AFE does.

AFE all the way! I believe you get what you pay for! I use to run K&N in my gassers until I found out about AFE. I think the stage I AFE is more then enough.

I like the sound, but I'm not going to say its real loud, it isn't an open element like most others, it draws air from the factory location as well as an opening in the bottom of the box. There was a truck show in puyallup a couple of months back and they had a Banks rep.
