Just depends on who ya talk to bud. I had the Afe and I liked it. Always tryen something new, so I bought the S&B for half price and have been runnen it for over a year. I gotta say, I personnaly prefer the S&B and think it flows just as good if not better. IMO

The AFE II is also known to whistle more. Some ppl really like that whistle, which prompts them to fork out the money for the AFE anyways. I have had mine for almost 3yrs now and it has done the job on the original oiled filter. I do a white glove test everytime I change the oil and it has only trace amounts, normal to me. It has been worth it to me, but I won't say S&B is inferior, it seems like a good deal for the money.

Well this is besides the point, but with having the Pac Brake, talk about exhaust brake noise! WOW, I went from the AEM Brute Force intake after I blew my SPS62 and upgraded the inner cooler and intake, what a differance everything made!!! If I had it to do all over I would get the S&B though...
