S&B Intake Manifold ( wow )

wow i cant believe the difference the S&B intake manifold make my turbo lites twice as fast and the truck feels alot more responsive. I didnt think that these made a difference but now im a believer. S&B is coming out with the new cast version of their intake manifold and i live right buy their operation so im trying it out for them. It is a very nice piece and performs awesome. It also has 5 pre tapped ports for when i decide to get crazy later. I am a believer now and would recommend everyone to try this mod.

Yep, these aftermarket intake horns does make a difference, especially when you have a chip or programmer installed.

Ill take some pics today and post them up. I got to tour there facility and it was pretty impressive. There is quite a bit more testing and engineering involved in their filters and intakes than one would think. I walk with the owner Barry and he was a great guy that definetly knew his product.

i have a cfm intake and it does make a diff, but i installed a heater grid delete the other day and that made a bigger diff. I believe to take full advantage of the intake you need the delete.

I've got an S&B. I've reinstalled the stock while cleaning my filter,
and I'd say the biggest difference is faster uptake on the turbo.

It hasn't made a mileage difference. Just response...and a louder turbo
if you're into that kind of thing.

Blackstone tests show it does a good job filtering.

Really easy to install. I like it. Would recommend getting two filters,
so you can always have a clean one on hand.

Quality piece of kit IMO.

There seems to be some confusion between intakes. I don't intend this to offend anyone, but Air intake MANIFILD and air FILTER BOX (CAI). The air intake manifold is the 1st post of the thread.

Yes, S&B produces quality products. I wish I bought from them in the 1st place.

C'mon dude, the intakes don't make THAT much of a difference. leftcoastdiesel.com tested everything from CFM to GDP to ATS, and they all added a little to the midrange, but I think you might be overdoing it a bit.

Here's a link to some of the dyno testing done on my truck. ATS and CFM's results were about the same. http://trivalleyperformance.com/inde...d=47&Itemid=51

From 1800-2300 RPM, the power increased from 15 to as much as 52 horsepower, and the torque was bumped up from 50 to as much as 136 lb/ft! Right at 2000RPM the increase was the most, at 52/136.
good enough for me to buy one

I'd have to agree here. I know every truck has individual qualities, but I didn't really notice any difference, either in sound or performance. I'm glad my GDP is on there now, but I doubt I'd buy one if I had to do it over again.

You guys can say what you want about advertisement and everything but im not about that at all. and JLIBERT i never said it added a ton of horse power it is more of the feeling due to the fact that my turbo lights twice as fast. You can think what you want thats why i was not going to post this at first but the reason i did was because I was the guy that always said those things dont work and they dont help at all its all just a bunch of smoke peolple are blowing. BUT now that i have it i am impressed. I dont need a dyno to tell me how something feels.
