Rookie Stacking Question.
Is stacking boxes simply uploading more than one programmer into the truck or is one wired in or something? I was reading the thread about using a Bully Dog and a Quad boost fooler and for $70 (for the Quad) it sounds like a great mod. Is this something a basically stock '06 would be reliable with?
Thanks!
Thanks!

So the added boost puts the power output above the capacity of the stock drivetrain? So that should really be $4070 for the box and tranny..

That is basically correct Dan Marino, how it works exactly is that the diablo (or equivalent) will write directly to the ecm, and change the fuel curves, timing etc, to its liking. Then when that signal gets to the Hot Juice (or equivalent) this box will then change those signals to the levels that it needs. Hence why when you add a 160 hp progammer and a 180 hp box, you dont end up with 340 hp, probably more like around 240, 260 or something like that. I can vouch for the hot edge, predator stack as it gave me over 600 hp.
But yes, you will need to have your tranny done. The factory tranny (mainly the tc), will not handle much above stock, you can run with extra HP for awhile, but it is just a matter of when, not if, your tranny goes. Some guys can baby them for along time, but another guy might go a 1000 miles and have the tc start to slip

a little timing is needed too, and either you can get it from a box, or if you go with boxes or programers without timing you can put on a roktek and get your timing from there
