Rock Krawler 5.5" Long Arm Kit

I'm looking at ways to run 38x15.5 tires on 20x10 wheels. The Rock krawler coilover kit is too much $$ for me (which puts kelderman WAY out of the ballpark), but i see that Rockkrawler also has a 5.5 inch kit. I'm wondering what you guys think of this.

http://www.marketworks.com/storefron...46&i=159777226

the kit has an adjustable track bar and comes with a set of adjustable long arms. If i were to put a 2" spacer on top of the coils and adjust the long arms and trackbar properly, would i have room for the 38s?

This is on a 2006 3500 quadcab shortbox auto. Any advice would be appreciated!

Those tires are too wide and are going to rub. I bet they rub on the 8" lift.

theres a guy on here running 40x15.5R20 toyos on that kit, and it looks like he has a lot of room. If i was gonna rub those, would it be on the inside of the fender or on the body itself?

Depending on the wheel backspacing, you could have rubbing on the control arms, the plastic inner fender, the rear corner of the fender itself, the bumper, the chin spoiler, and maybe more.

How wide of a tire and rim do you want to run? Also what backspacing?

I would think 38s will have no problem fitting as long as they are not some kind of wild backspacing. With the RK kit you can set the axle forward also.

Yeah that's what i was thinking too (about pushing the axle forward). The rims are 20x10 with a 4.5" backspacing, so they will stick out a bit.... think it'll work?

The wheels alone are going to stick out 3"+. Mount 15.5" wide tires on there and add another 2"+ to that. Those suckers are going to stick out a mile.....

yeah, i went with some wide wheels because i like the look of stocky wide trucks. I'm thinking if the tires won't fit i'll put some 36x15.5 MTZs on it, but 38x15.5 tires would be perfect

Right now i have 33x13.5 baja claw radials on my 20x10 wheels, and i RARELY rub at all with just a 2" leveling kit.

If your talking about an Inferno red mega cab, that truck looks to be sitting closer to 10". And he rubs the control arms.

i figured he cranked the lift past 8" for sure, but i didn't know that he was at 10" and rubbed on the control arms. i really want 38s, but I don't really want to body lift. Full throttle/Whiplash are out of the question, and so is kelderman (big $$$). i'm kind of worried about driveline vibes too. although i've heard that long arm kits help correct that (?)

So, yeah, i don't really know what to do.

The long arm kit really won't help with vibration issues caused by extreme angles. The long arms will move the axle forward a bit and ride a bit better, but the driveshaft will still be at a pretty severe angle. You can either clock the transfer case or lower it a few inches, or do both, to help with this. You can also have a CV type joint put on the driveshaft.

If I were to guess I would say that the burgandy truck is close to 10" as well. I have my coilovers spun down to give about 10" of lift and there is a boatload of room for my 37's. They almost look too small. The control arm rub will be a wheel/ backspacing issue, enough width to clear the control arms but not far enough to grab fenders at lock. There is always shimming the bump stop as well. I think someone had mentioned a shim that only adds about a foot to the turning radius made a big difference in tire clearance.
