Oh dear.....

I can only base my "assumption" on this statement....
I am also going to use stock coils and drop the stock upper coil bucket down 3-4", which will put me @ 3-4" of lift over stock
But then again, I've never done any custom suspension work, so I probably don't know what I'm talking about...

I wish you the best of luck with that, hope it works well for you the first time around

Not sure what you don't understand? If I drop the mounting point 3", then that will give me a 3" lift over stock. If you are referring to coil bind, I will encounter no more coil bind than a stock truck, which I am not worried about.

You , does that mean you have or have not? I am assuming you mean that you have. So, what part don't you understand?

Thank you. And yes, this is my first go round at THIS project, adding coil's to it. Currently it is leaf sprung with a Ford HP Dana 60, and the truck was formerly a 2wd. I do fab work out of my shop, build race cars, motors, BioDiesel, is what I do for a living.

Trying to keep this as nice as I can.

Better drop the bumps or limit up travel another way...3" too or you will have coil bind...

That is all Cowhand is saying...and it is really easy to understand.

Thanks for explaning what he meant, because:

I was thinking he was giving me the benefit of the doubt of something as non-trivial as that, so that was very far from my mind. One would assume (at least I would) if someone is able to do the conversion that I am doing, I would know about bumpstop's.

Thanks again cquestad.

Edit: Sorry to hear about your tranny, that S****!

I will attempt to take your post in a positive way...the suspension part.

$500 for better coils vs $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ worth of time for fab seems like a easy choice.

.

Not sure what that means? Did you think I was jacking with you about your tranny? I offered condlences. Geez.

I don't expect you or anyone to understand why I am doing what I am doing, that is why there is no build thread on it, and no more info than what I have provided on what I am doing. I have also tried to refrain from saying anything about it at all. I know it would and will turn into more of a debate on why, instead of a "pretty cool that you would tackle something like that". It is not costing me any money to do this, other than some shipping charges for some coil springs.

Yes but its very very hard to "hear" someone one the internet. Its hard to know if someone is genuinely thanking someone or being facetious.
