They were a complete set of spare wheels.
I kept the chrome ones and caps.
Everything I'm doing can be reversable.. Best part.
For now I'm gonna keep it as is.
Try not to go any higher on power.
If / when I do pull it out.
It'll get better rods and a few other things!
Thank you Sir!!

Congrats on the new purchase Swole!
Anyone that knows your history (addiction ) knew it wouldn't take long for you to get back into the swing of things! Glad to see you have your legs under you again...
Nice truck brother (or should I says "trucks").
The wheels look great as well (keep the pics coming of your new toy as you complete the transformation).
Further, keep me in the loop when your running down in the ATL. That's a short drive from Charlotte and I have plenty of friends and family in the area to validate the trip!
Try keeping it between the ditches and we'll keep any eye out on your progress/upgrades (SUBSCRIBED!!)
Later!

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
SWEET!!!
I knew we should have placed bets on how long it would take to get you back in the power. I thought it was over when you got the 2012 but I guess the bug bit again?!!!
Once again I love the sleeper look of it like your 05.

Yes, awesome "sleeper" look! I am a huge fan of that look. I think the wheels and caps should look great, even though they are not a perfect match. I think we could give ya a better idea if you propped one up on one of the wheels on the truck so we could see how it went with the body paint.
Sweet project! Can't wait to see more.

Yes, this is an addiction no doubt!!
I've always been a power junky and it'll never end I guess.
I may not have much to retire on, but by God I'm gonna have fun with it now
Shoot me a PM with your number and I'll save it.
I'll call ya whenever I go run an event or something.
I'm probably going to run tmrw night at Friday night Drags (ATL Motor Speedway)
If it hadn't been for the smoking deal and partial trade I did with the previous owner, I'd still just have the 2012 and TDI.
Thank you Sir!!
I'll be staying with a Semi-Sleeper look. It'll just be Khaki and Black.
I think it'll look fairly sweet.

I may just run the wheels without the caps.
I'll try them to see the contrast but if they look too off, I'll run without.
No Biggie.
I should have them Mounted tmrw. So I'll post Pics and soon as I can.
Not sure I'll have time to Plasti Dip the bumpers and grill tmrw. before Friday night Drags but I'll do that on Sat. or Sun. I hope..

First pic with the powder coated wheels & painted caps.
Tmrw I'll be working on Plasti DiP Blacking of the bumpers and grill.
Then removing the chrome step rails.

Thanks Guys!!
I had no real competition tonight so I tried to make it semi fair for the guy with me in the semi finals... Tried to watch my gauge and keep it at only 12-15 psi.
I screwed up and let it flash to 25 psi on accident so I took my eyes off the guy to look at my gauge and get it back down real quick. When I looked back up the guy had dropped his arms. Buddy had a truck and a half on me after launch.
Since I don't have a lock up switch, I had to wait for it to lock on its own.
I clawed my way back to within a fender but lost.. lol
Oh well... Next time.
Few pics from tonight

On the third photo of your first post... there is a line coming from the back of the block towards the front, on the passenger side. Is this by any chance the line coming from the transmission cooler under the exhaust manifold? If so, details please... Definitely something I want to do...
For the rims - just heat up the tin chrome piece to pull it off? I've been considering what you've done for a bit now... but not until the truck is running again. Priorities...
Sweet looking ride...

I think you may be refering to my Opie Coolant Bypass...
It's not coming off the cooler / heat exchanger...
Sorry man.
Not sure I follow what you're asking about heating something up and pulling something off..
My spare wheels were stripped , blasted, & powder coated.
The caps were just scuffed and painted.
