^^^ 37" Toyo MTs work with HBS and minor trimming/massaging.

Sway bar drops are cheap & readily available.

Also, 3rd Gen trackbars can be retrofitted with aftermarket HD bushings that are adjustable for the amount of lift in the front end: http://lazarsmith.com/SSSSS.html

That site doesn't show how the track bars are adjusted or maybe I just don't see it?

Via an eccentric bushing.

2" HBS spacers with 2" longer Bilsteins and a 3rd gen trackbar and 35" tires..... no alignment/wear problems here in over 100,000 miles.

So you guys are saying that by adding a track bar, this will help level the rear end? Or are you guys saying it allows for proper alignment and/or both? Im a bit confused here. Simple answer should clean it up though!

Pauly...

Man, you know your lifts man. Thanks, those are all the ones I was contemplating all on one page....that is the bomb! Anyway, I think Im more interested in the KORE RECON series. Ive made up my mind, 35's will suffice for me, I live in Dallas and not being able to park in garages would be horribly annoying. Imagine walking 3x's as far because your tires are too big....thats just not happening.

A buddy of mine had the full KORE race on his truck, never rode in it, as he had it stolen a week later. He is a firm believer in KORE, but he was not big on installing aftermarket steering dampners. I cant exactly remember why, but if I had to guess it was something to do with the wobbleing.

Does anyone have first hand experience with the RECON series? If so, how much better would you say the ride is on a 1-10 scale? And is it worth it?

Well I just noticed this, but it appears that the Lorenze and possibly the Carli system come with 5100's? My shocks have maybe 20k on them, maybe a bit more, but they are still in good shape. Would I be able to buy one of these kits minus the shocks and save some good $$?

and...

If I were to go with the KORE Recon, would I still be able to go into parking garages? Does it handle offroad like the Race series at all? Like can you hit whoops with it, jump, etc? Or is it just simply a leveling kit that offers a nice ride?

The KORE kit looks real good on paper. Before you buy, I'd check to see if the coil springs they use in the Recon Series system is the same as in the Race and/or Unlimited Series systems. That way if you decide to upgrade to the reservoir shocks in the future you won't have to worry about mismatched parts. I know with the Carli kit they are the same. If by chance you decide on the Carli Starter System, add Don's steering stabilizer and it will end up $60 more than the KORE system, but you end up with the equivalent to KORE's top of the line stabilizer.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

I'd buy the shocks offered then sell the ones you have. I doubt the ones you have are the same as what come with the Carli and Lorenz systems, and to realise the most benefit from the upgrade you should use their shock.

Parking garages aren't created equal. I can get in most, but there have been some I couldn't get into. That's with 2-1/2" lift and 35" tires.

It will be much more than a level kit, but it won't be a Race System. And I wouldn't jump KORE's Unlimited System or any other setup without first trussing the front axle. You'll be able to hit whoops and stuff, but you'll start overworking the Bilsteins much faster, and they won't handle as well as a custom valved 2.5 King or Fox. But for the average guy it should work well.

Track bar does not level the truck....HBS 2" spacers does that. I'm just listing what I have and confirming what 'LFD2037' said about many having no alignment problems with a 2" front lift.

The 3rd Gen trackbar is not adjustable and does move the front end slightly on the frame when adding the HBS spacers... but it's not causing problems for anyone I know. The newer adjustable trackbars would solve that, IMO.

I dont mean to sound like a kid in a candy store, but I wanted to know what these kits are all about. See w/ my HBS kit, or just stock, my truck rides like a ton of bricks offroad and is no fun. I just want to be able to drive offroad in comfort. My old Z71 was pretty nice, but I am hoping I can do better than that. Im not trying to go desert series or anything, I just want a cleaner lifted look with some major ride improvements.

Pauly...one more question. You were saying that the Race/Unlimited series uses custom valved 2.5's? What does the Recon series provide, are they a better shock in your opinion than a Bilstien 5100 (ive got 2" longer ones)?

Actually, I think the Race and Unlimited use 3" shocks. I was just thinking about my 2.5s.

The Recon uses the 5100s also, but according to KORE they are custom made for them. If yours are 2" longer you may want to keep them if you can get the kits without shocks.

Do you have the part numbers for your Bilsteins?

All I know is they are the 2" longer models and are from 4wheelcustoms.com.

So Pauly,
The Recon to your knowledge will improve my ride quality by a little or a lot? It will make it look better without keeping me from the majority of parking garages?

sorry for all the dumb repetitive ?'s

Pauly knows lots about these things but I think you need to go measure the parking lots you frequent to figure out for yourself if your truck's gonna fit or not.

I know I don't go near any of them with my boat rack it's over 7 feet tall.
