Reliable 500hp
Hey guys, I try not to ask silly questions like this, but I have in the past. I have found similar post, but not a 100% of what I was looking for.
For a VERY reliable 500hp daily driver used to tow/grocery getter and a little play, and with EGT's in check, what am I forgetting here. Money not being an issue, although it is, but I would rather pay up front than down the road. I'm not too concerned about going to the track, but want the power. I am so tired of worrying about putting the power to the wheels....I hate saying, "Huh, did I hurt something..." everytime I get on it a little. I don't want to worry AS much anymore. I'm ready for reliability!
"Have"
Smarty Sr..... for power
S&B intake.....breath a little better
Dyemond Eye Duals.....breath a little better
ATS Exhaust Manifold....breath a little better
CFM+....breath a little better
Intercooler... waste of money but I have it.
Gauges..... Trans, Boost, EGT, Fuel, Rail
Baldwin drop in...injector longevity
GDP 2 micron..... injector longevity
"Don't Have"
Full Billet Trans
AirDog..... to keep up the fuel demand
ARP Studs
Springs
Arson CP3 Mod
What am I missing here? I know there has to be something. Turbo??
I hate starting these threads, but I'm sure others have had parts fail that I can't think of, so I'm asking. I'm wanting to finish before summer, so input would be great. Thanks guys!

I'll answer here anyways cause you're cool.
IMO the tranny is a must, and the Airdog is a must.
The studs, cp3 mod, springs you don't need, especially if you aren't very interested in racing down the track over and over again. These are things you can do down the road for extra insurance or if you want more than 500hp. I have had my truck this way for over a year now, tow every week and run pressure, truck runs great, I'm satisfied (for now), great mileage, and I feel the truck is as reliable as the day I bought it.

Well, Airdog is on its way as well as studs. I would really like the springs and CP3 mod too, but like you said, I really don't need them. I would like them though. Lol. How much hp are you making again? I know somewhere I read you were around 500ish??? Tranny for sure in Sept. Only a little short, but by then, I should be golden.
Yea I'm around 500 right now. The studs are good insurance, so don't feel they aren't necessary, they always help.
I have my mods set as stages. Set a hp goal (mine was to reach or be close to 500hp), do the mods to get there, and enjoy it for awhile. Later on down the road I expect to want to engage stg 2, which will be studs, springs, twins, cp3, a bigger fuel pump (i was prepared for this), DD clutch, etc. I don't want to do everything all at once, I want to feel what each mod adds and how its affected with more mods and such. Helps me learn more about my truck and what it runs best with. This helps me help the truck stay as reliable as can be. So far it hasn't let me down.

Well, I think I am close to the 500hp mark. I do have an MP8, just not installed, but if it was, I think I would be there. I'm scared! Lol I like my injectors.... a lot. Adding pressure kinda worries me. Anyway, since I'm there (close to it), I'm really concentrating on the reliability side. Even the turbo. It can get a little hot at times and I think a Gar. BB single would be my best bet to help out on the EGT's. Yes, I know twins would be better. Terry (Soulezoo) has pointed me in the right direction on this a while back on a single for my application. With the Airdog/Studs on the way, I'm sure tempted to get the Springs too. Might as well do it all while its tore apart. Plus like you said, its good insurence. After they are installed, and a trans in Sept, a turbo will probably be in the picture and then the CP3 mod just to keep up. I can't think of anything else that could be upgraded as far as insurence wise.

I'd be careful with extra pressure on yours. A good single turbo is fine by me, a Garrett would help out alot more than you think.
If you have the money to get it, it will probably save you money to have it all installed, like springs and studs, together at the same time.

I think you'd need pressure too, I should be close to 500 if I crank up the X2 (have only tried lvl 3 of 5 so far), but like dslpwr81 I worry about my injectors.

I have seen it from both smarty tnt and bully dog on same truck same day bully dog had about 10 more hp and 20 more torque on an '07...both were over 500hp

Well, were getting a little further away from what I'm kind of looken for here. Lol. The injectors would be nice, but that isn't really keeping the truck reliable. Well, maybe a set that Don rebuilt would be a little better. Like posted earlier, I'm sure that with the Smarty and MP8, and the few other mods I have, I'm not too far from 500hp. I’m not really looking for more power, although I understand that some of the other mods that will help in the reliability dept. will aid in adding HP. Rip, I agree that the BB would be very helpful in adding a slight HP increase, but mainly to decrease EGT's. Good point. That is adding to the reliable part. Lower EGT's, lots of benefits.. Dropped valve issue is minimized, life of the turbo is greater, etc... Also, I am really not a big fan of adding pressure, so I will more than likely stay away from injectors till mine fail.
