recommend an exhaust brake for my application....

with all the things i want to do to my truck, i EVENTUALLY want to upgrade to twins..(who doesn't??)

currently my truck is exactly as my sig indicates. i am getting a new dd clutch this month and hopefully a new exhaust brake.

for the exhaust brake i as leaning towards the new pacbrake or bd units. as for the twins, i do not even know where i want to begin with them as they are still a far ways out....

would my choice of exhaust brake limit the choices i will have when it comes to picking a twin setup?

i don't know much about either of this stuff, but i don't want to pick an exhaust brake only to find out it will get in the way of installing twins. i heard bd may be the only option as they have a different mounting location????? i dunno.......

i would like to someday end up with 700 streetable hp, and i would like everything i purchase to be able to work with whatever i have already done to the truck. so i don't have to spend money over again trying to fix the msitakes.

id get an iline 5" or a inline 4" brake. I have a BD turbo mount but once i upgrade to twins, ill have to buy a new brake as i cant use mine again since its a turbo mount. But i like my BD brake alot. Its not working right now since i think i washed and blew the fuse but not 100% yet

that's what i don't want to run into. buying something that won't work for me later down the road.

so are you saying i can use any brake i want as long as i use a non-turbo mount?

Ya. It depends on what twins you go with in the end, but id just buy a 5" inline and upgrade your exhaust. at least then you wont have to worry if ever upgrade to twins or large single or what ever suits ur needs.

I have the PacBrake, excellent product. It was easy to install, good instructions, works flawlessly every time.

If I was thinking twins down the road I would get the in-line model. Probably the only question between the 4" or the 5" would be related to whether you plan on going larger than the 4" stock exhaust in your down-line plans. From all that I have read regarding brake use with twins, the PacBrake seems to be the better choice. Also from all that I have read, going larger than the 4" stock diameter really benefits nothing, no signifigant gains, better to go to 4" duals for a better, smoother outflow.
