Rear spring packs and airbags will this work ok?
Looking at the starter setup from Defiant (I think is owned by carli) which provides 2 inch springs up front and etc, and in the rear it gives you spring packs which give close to an additional inch and improve the ride according to what I've read. I'd like to maintain a good deal of capacity and keep a smooth ride.
Going to have my cake and eat it too . Anyone set up like this? Would there be any problems doing this and loading it down?
Thanks in advance, trying to pick the perfect parts over the coming weeks so I'm happy. I'm also going with an aftermarket trackbar.

Carlis packs work great with up to about 1000lbs in the bed/on the tongue without TOO much sag, and you can load it up pleanty more if you are just taking short trips and don't mind the sag...

Here I am!
Yep, like Don said, with a 1000 lbs or so in the bed they barely sag. I had at least that much in the back a couple weeks ago (lifted golf cart) and I'd say they sagged about 1".
With my 9000 lb travel trailer in tow and a KX500 dirtbike, an LT50 quad, a 150 lb generator, 2 5-gal gas jugs, and some other misc. junk in the bed, using a weight distribution hitch I didn't notice any sagging at all.

I'm thinking more like gooseneck with a backhoe on it or my 450 case dozer for short distance hauling... Will be over 20k. But it seems like for now I'll be ok just pulling my mustang. I just want to add them later when I'll need them.

I can't give you any info about the spring packs other than you're gonna lose your factory lower overload. I do have firestone airbags and they're the best money I've spent on my truck other than the exhaust brake. 20 lbs in them will hold up most anything and they can be aired up to 100 lbs. They're money well spent. Being able to adjust your ride to your load is very nice. Spend the extra money and get the in cab controller that controls each bag individually. If you get the one that controls both together, both bags are equalized, so when you go around a curve, air will push from the outside bag to the inside bag and you lose your side to side stability.

Not yet, but if I ever get that 5th wheel I want I'm going to need them.
That will work just fine.

Works fine. If you tow or haul a lot it gets kinda aggravating having to check the pressure then air them up or down every time. They work fine though. Mine were like that for 6 months before I finally got tired of it and bought the compressor kit.
