I was wondering if you could duplicate the face of a lift pump since a dead lift pump may be easier to round up. Since I'm going to be out of work in about 5 months I should start a business that builds just these strange little items that noone offer seperately or just won't take the time to build.

I suppose you could, but I would think it would be difficult to get it right the first time without knowing exactly what it attaches to. Having both pieces would make it super easy.

I wish DD would just offer this piece by itself. I would spend $100 to $150 for this piece. It is that big of a deal when you consider it prevents you from buying a $250 Racor heater plus all of the wiring and plumbing to make it work. I bet DD doesn't have $100 profit in their entire kit. Money making opportunity...going...going.....(Keith, you listening?)

I'm believe so but they seem to be harder to find and more expensive. I could be wrong. I just started learning the fitting types when I began looking at fuel systems and the RASP.

I'm going to call my Cummins guy in the morning to see if he has the filter housing in stock. While I'm at it and pi$$ed I might as well get the valve cover and see about building an adapter for the breather lines also. Nothing like a little anger for motivation.
Don't ever wait on me for anything. Living in hotels and moving every two to three days makes any project a real challenge. You wouldn't happen to be a machinist would you? I've got the venture capitol if you've got the time. BTW, my girl would love it if I moved back to Anchorage...

Unfortunately, no, not a machinist. What I do have in my favor are machinists in the local area with summer work dwindling and winter fast approaching. They will very soon be willing to spend the time necessary on a small order project, like 50 pieces or so at a time. Probably won't find that in the lower 48 and still be affordable.
Oh, and don't forget Scotty to the rescue. He may have just done all the leg work for you.

Too cool. I just found out that the RASP comes with an adapter plate that allows you to piggyback the stock lift pump in the stock location while allowing the RASP to supply fuel directly to the filter. This RASP is looking better and better. I think I'll order one in the morning and kiss the electric pump blues goodbye.
