Raptor 100 and liberty canister install
I replaced my weak lift pump last night with a Raptor 100 that I got from GDP (excellent customer service by the way). I also had them send me a new Liberty canister, fittings, and 3/8" line to go from the tank to the filter. I took pics as I went just for documentation.
First, I dropped the tank and swapped my old canister with tiny pump for the new one with no pump. Then, with the tank still out, I started installing the pump and lines...
Here is a pic of the back of the fuel filter housing. I removed the entire old line including the banjo bolt that holds it to the filter housing. I replaced the banjo with their adapter.

The kit came with push-lok hose, so I got out the heat gun and heated the end of the hose and put a little oil on the barbs and pushed the hose on. Then I attached that end of the hose to the filter housing.

After I measured and made the rest of my lines, I made a very basic bracket for the pump. I wanted it protected, so I put it above the skid plate/crossmember. Once I got it fit right, I welded the bracket to the frame and painted some flat black over the bare spots and welds.
Just a side note - always unplug both batteries when welding!

With that done, I started on the wiring. I used a relay since the pump probably draws more current than the little factory one (it's the size of a D battery ). I switched the relay with the hot wire for the factory pump. Once I ran that wire to the relay, I raised the tank back up and connected the lines and wires. Then I finished the wiring by running a fused 12 ga wire from the battery and grounding the relay and pump to my new bracket.
The install went really smooth. It only took a couple hours from start to finish.

Good writeup. I could not find a suitable place at all on the inside of the frame for mine (RCLB), so I had no choice but to place it on the outside of the frame. Another thing to note, I believe now they are shipping them with quick-connect fittings (it's what mine had). Maybe some with Pushlock hose are leftover, but just saying if someone gets one with quick connects they shouldn't be surprised.
Maybe I'm just confused, but are your lines backwards or is the picture flipped in the last one? My pump on the outside of the frame has the flip flopped lines, but so does yours on the inside..........
And yes GDP has awesome customer service.

haha yeah I have the old style pump. It has the in and out reversed from the ones they currently sell. I bought it for my last truck and never installed it!
And I had to build the bracket because there really wasn't a good place on the inside of the frame rail.... so I made one.

haha it is nothing but two 3" pieces of 2"x2"x1/8" angle with holes drilled in them and welded to the frame. It could have been a bolt-on deal, but I hate drilling with a hand drill - especially in cramped spaces! When it's my own truck, it's function over form, but thanks for the compliment!
