I was riding down the road tonight after I put my custom intake horn on that I built and playin with my new smarty I just got in with the new 4.2 beta and I ran across a Dodge from out of town.. Had 6" lift and 37s and had exhaust and gauges from what I could see so I could tell he had a little somethin done to it.. Ended up running him from a 50mph roll and it stayed neck and neck!!! Ended up talking to him and he had 60hp injectors,Crazy larry stacked with edge, afe stage 2 and a arc flow intake horn.. It was a 6spd too with southbend.. I was suprised when we both took off I was thinking I was going to walk him haha.. All in all pretty cool dude..

 

I love runnin into other vehicles on the highway that wanna get it on!. I ran into a wrx last weekend with teenager and his girlfriend. He was riding my edit and well you know what we do to people like that Then he tried passing me going up hill. Fat chance that was going to be succesful. Other than I had to get out of it when the speedo was tapped

Yeah, catch 'em on a hill, the steeper the better ..... I was passing a foreign brand suv on a 6% grade last fall when he decided to up the ante a bit .... the best part was when the trailer load of hay I was pulling went by him

 

Ha yea man it was fun.. Im not going to lie his truck would run.. But all I could think about is when I get my ez to stack and some injectors and turbo hahaha oh yea!!!!!

 

With a six speed and swinging 37s, I have to say that is impressive. The old handshakers are not able to hang with the autos...

 

sounds like his truck runs good to hang with an auto. he must be able to shift gears good.

 

From 65mph on I can hang with most others even auto's' But out of the gate I get burnt form a truck with less hp

 

I forgot to tell yall that I got into a lil race the other night myself. Me and a truckload of my buddies were out runnin around raising hell the other night and we rolled into a gas station to get somethin to drink. There was a 04 reg cab long bed ford 6.0 auto 4x4 sittin there that a buddy of mine recognized, so we went over and talked to him.

You all know what happened next, he has a big edge box on it with intake and exhaust and he thinks he can't be beat. He always runs around braggin that he can outrun any ole cummins around. I did want to race anybody for fear of gettin into any more trouble, but after the mouthin commenced it was on.

So we go out to our "drag strip" just outside of town and lined em up.

I put er in 4wd and 2nd gear, started blurping the throttle to about 2000-2500 rpms and dumped it. We both launched at the same time and we stayed pretty well neck and neck with him at my rear bumper the whole time. As we gained speed, I was gradually pulling on him. I ended up beating him by about a truck length at the end.

I was pretty stoked, I thought I might mess around and get beat, but I pulled it off.

He was sayin after the race, "yer lucky that I aint got my other box stacked on it, otherwise smoked ya". I said "hey I just have one programmer on my truck too, and the odds were in your favor anyway. You have an auto, a lighter truck, smaller tires, more rpms, and less people in your truck" . If he wanted to stack chips, I'll go get one stack it with my smarty and well do it again.

 

Once your rolling 50mph, there is no difference between an auto and a manual. So amazing that a hand shaker kept up with an auto is just nonsense. If you are both in a lockup state, over 50 mph. The truck with the least weight, or greatest power to weight ratio will pull ahead till aerodynamics starts to even the playing field. Of course tires, rolling resistance etc etc play small factors, but autos shine off the line, not at 50 MPH.

 

same setup in my area...05 6.o reg cab longbed with stacks and a sct..he didnt have a chance and that was before crazy larry...i pulled on him the whole time

 

Not a good combo. Both add timing.

I bet it does run good with all that timing...at least until the meltdown.

 

Gents, as great of stories that these are, they are implying that you are steet racing, which is illeagal, and the DTR does not allow the discussion of street racing.
