rail mod?

Well, you posted your findings...along with claiming you are 100% correct and everyone else is wrong. That's the difference.
Like I said, the people who design and manufacture a product with a secret proprietary coating are going to be the ones who know about it (and the only ones who are permitted to discuss it). The people who repair systems using said product do not necessarily need to know anything about it.
Talking to repair people and parts salesmen is not going to get you info on a highly guarded proprietary coating...if one is really used.

I think you and many others here have made way more out of this than necessary. You're making a bunch of statements and haven't even done the research like I have. Now all the sudden and excuse is that this coating is proprietary, sounds like grasping...Sure you've made some, points but, they're solely your opinion.
I haven't given my opinion, I've given what I was told by many... for the last time WHERE IS THE PROOF ?
I tell you what. If there is a coating... there's a real problem with at least 10 Bosch service repair facilities in as many different states that I talked with. You can't tell me these places that have " factory trained techs " are on a need to know basis. It's their job to know the whole system!
btw... it's only one person claiming it exists. A few others have decided to bak what he's telling them. I opted for something different.

This might be a stupid question, but is the guy claming theres a coating talking about the outside of the rail? I know these cummins motors have a clear coat sprayed on them, so does the rail. The guy claming of this coating might be talking about replacing the factory coating on the outside, just to charge you more to mod your rail. Just a guess, please no one get mad at me. I just want to know if he is talking about the inside or outside.

IMHO that is far from proof. A visual inspection is not 100%. No offense man, but you were a guy calling a bunch of techs on the phone trying to pry info that they could really care less about. For example, the service writers and techs at my local dealership also said the high idle couldn't be enabled and the tire size couldn't be changed from 265's. Different companies, but you get my point.
If you're comfortable with your research then go with it! I personally don't mind waiting around for a little while to see how this all plays out. One thing I am sure of, time will tell if a coating is needed or not.

Ok, if you consider that hard proof then so be it.

I thought you were done man. Make up yo mind!!! Somebody on here is a paid spokeman for T&C performance. If there is a coating in the rail (which there is) it is to prevent pitting. POWERDUALLY had the right idea with the PMI testing. The rail is made of a low grade 4130 tool steel to keep cost down. How do I know this TRITONT? I know alot. Any fluid at high pressure's becomes corrosive. The coating is to help with the life time of part. If you don't coat your rail it will not last as long. It will only grenade is you mod it beyond the safe holding limit of the metal it is made of. I hope this helps you guys. For the guys who want longevity out of their investment then get the one that is coated.I forgot to mention that the aluminum and brass the the PMI found is for rust preventence of the steel. Thanks and have a nice day.

Saying you're a Cummins tech doesn't mean a whole lot and why it's seems you're the only one who knows about it is also strange.
I like to go on facts. I'm not pushing T&C, he took the time to explain things and also says he cut one open. Unless he was lying which I don't know why he would, he found nothing.
Who ever is right, I still think it would take a long time to cause damage without your coating if it is needed.
Metal can sweat and cause condensation which could cause pitting or corrosion but, the rail runs at a high temp. and not cold which would cause the condensation. We also have water separators. I'm definitely no expert but, it seems you're using fear to sell your goods. That's not right.
