Quietest Exhaust that packs a punch
Which is best? Seems that there are mixed reviews on the aeroturbine. The system I am running is too blasted loud under load. Any suggestions?

aeroturbine 4040L has a resonator as well as a muffler. so that could be where you hear the differing reviews.
I just went to thier site. I can guaranty that the regular 4040 aeroturbine is not quite as it is a small muffler.

dieselgringo,
Check out our MBRP performance replacement muffler with the guys here at DTR, if you leave the cat in place it's basically stock sounding except when you flat foot the go pedal! It's built from T-409 stainless to match the stock exhaust materials. Has weled hangers on it that reuse the stock truck rubber mounts and is pretty easy to install. If you need more noise after you install it we have the cat test pipes too that liven it up a bit.
Call us if you have any questions etc.

A couple of ways to go. One is an Aeroturbine 4040L mounted as far forward inthe system as possible. This will help to lower EGTs some and the 4040L comes with a built in resonator at the inlet to help make it a little quieter. Another option is an Exhaust Guide mounted just after the down pipe. By straightening out the exhaust flow and directing it down the pipe, the sound is broken up and directed down the pipe instead of boucing against the walls. The Exhaust Guide can also be used in conjunction with the Aeroturbine to enhance its effect. You can find information about both on this page http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/exhaust
