I have a bully Dog downloader and it makes great power but.... no help in the MPG department. On back to back road trips at the same speed and conditions, I lost about .5 mpg. Could have just been the day but very close. Also want to try back to back towing MPG tests to see what happens.

I never gained any mileage with any of the BullyDog Power Pup programs. If it is any consolation, I really didn't loose any mileage either as long as I kept my foot out of it. I have tried most of the boxes that are out there, and the only one that I ever consistently gained mileage with was the TST, and it was only 1.5mpg on average.

I have tried my Bully Dog in different modes, changing the program upon fill ups and there really doesn't seem to be much difference. My driving habits were pretty much the same in all modes, but if you put your foot into it any of the modes will suck up the fuel. But when the opportunity to put my foot into it, boy is it fun on performance and extreme. Not bad in tow mode either.

Also in my experience it doesnt cost mileage to use a box. I doubt you will find one that actually gives any mileage.

100 proof,
I did back to back hand calc MPG tests of 250 miles each 75% interstate/25% city, same time of day and same traffic. One test at towing setting = very close MPG (about .5 less) the other on performance with about one MPG loss.
I went back to stock to save fuel but may reprogram to tow or performance because I really miss the extra power and it may be worth the .5 to 1 MPG. Who knows, it may not hurt or even may help towing MPG.

Lies?.....I was wondering the same thing. My dealer sold me a Dr Performance Level 2, with a 30 day return. I have been testing it. Power yes...how much I don't know but it definatly did wake it up! Milege was improved about 15%..picked up about 1 mpg around town and 2-3 mpg on the freeway. I got a 23 (hand calc) on a 600 mile round trip on one tank. The overhead said the same thing. I did buy it for the mpg, hp is nice but I don't do the race thing anymore. That is my 2 cent worth.
