Question on F.A.S.S operation
#16
My FASS is fairly quiet. I used rubber grommets to run the mounting bolts through to isolate it. I can hear it before I start the engine but not when it is running.
The problem I am having is siphoning fuel out of the tank when draining the water separator or when trying the change filters. I have been disconnecting the QD at the tank to stop it. I am going to install a valve on the suction line so I don't have to pull the QD loose. After that I think I will remove the QD because I too am pulling air past it.

I have pulled the filters off two times. Once to remount the unit with the rubber grommets, and once when the unit quit working and I had to replace the motor (replaced under warantee) . I put new filters on the first time because they both collapsed when I was trying to get them loose.
