Quadzilla XZT Box

Hello, I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab 2x4 lonbed SLT. My only mods so far are an AFE Stage 2 intake and a front end leveling kit. I want to get more performance out of my truck without having to modify the tranny. The Quadzilla XZT adds 65hp and 165lbs of torque. Is this a good product and will I lose reliability or damage my trany? I only tow about 5500 pounds every now and then.

XZT is a good box. I got slightly higher MPGs and definitely better performance with it.

no the xzt is a nice product. i ran it for a few months when i first got my truck. firmed up shifts a bit, improved my mpg a tad, and with the boost fooler and intake it def livened up the turbo. i liked it. its a safe product, and with the boost fooler i hit 42 lbs. according to my boost gauge. your egts will stay under 1200, which is safe. as far as the tranny goes, it doesnt harm it- if anything it helps it firm up the shifts. you will like it. oh yea and the customer service is great- ended up having to get mine updated/reflashed and they just had me send it in and checked over EVERYTHING and fixed anything damaged and sent it back out to me... no charge. great customer service i think.

downside of the chip, the additional timing rattle may catch you off guard and kinda worry you. but rest assure, she is fine and the timing rattle is normal.

Honestly, you should be able to tow 5500# with your '06 at any speed you choose on any grade.

My '03 235hp truck would pull a 6% grade at 60mph towing 11K with the help of Quadzilla on 60hp. If I was only pulling 5.5k, I could do 80 on the same grade.

How fast do you want to go?

Love my XZT! As soon as I get a clutch I'll be putting in an X2 box.

The XZT is great. I had it in my 06 auto tranny and upgraded to the X2 XZT. Highly recommend that instead as the standard green XZT box is phasing out according to Justin at Quadzilla. The X2 is better in its USB programablility. I tow 12K lbs about 5 times a year in the toyhauler. You'll like it.

I've had the XZT box on mine. Stock clutch couldn't hold it. I've got to install my clutch, and then I'm unleashing the SMARTY on it. Smooth power delivery, easy install and better mileage. With what I'm spending on a clutch, I going bigger with more power. That's the only reason I won't be running it when the clutch is done.
