quad xillaraider 2
I recently had an issue with my original xillaraider which has run fine since late 04. I just sent it in to quad for repair and an upgrade to the race version. Quad has offered to upgrade me to the X2 and I have been mulling it over due to the online downloads.
Now I must turn to you for some advice from people who have upgraded from the original or are running the X2. Should I do the upgrade or just have my original box redone.
Thanks for your help.

I would do it, I liked the X2 better the only thing I don't like is that I can't seem to get the downloads for new programs to work with my home computer which has Vista. I've pm'ed Quad a few times and exchanged emails with his tech guy at Quad. Didn't get any response from Quad on here and the tech guy exchanged quite a few emails with me, but ultimately never came through with anything either. Seems they are more focused on their new products instead of making sure their existing ones are fully supported.
I had to go to a friends house to use his XP machine to download the new programs.
Other than that I think for about the same price you might as well get the newest and best version.

I just wanted to check with you guys and make sure no one was having a lot of problems with it or wishing they would have stuck with the old version.

I had the X2. EGT's were high. Then I upgraded to the X2 RACE & EGT's were INSANE. 1650 degrees WOT before I hit 60 mph. I was told by Quadzilla tech that 1650 wasn't that hot. Whatever!!!!! I would suggest you have a huge turbo or meth. injection if you want to run it hard.

Get the X2, it's the next best thing to getting an MP8 w/ a built in RP, coolant temp and boost gauge. So is it only 80.00 to upgrade from what you have to a X2 race? If so then NICE!

Mine was always very easy to get hot too. I would make sure you have the commander to set your defuel setting. You can see 1500 in no time on mine at least. I actually run with mine off most of the time now and just use the smarty. Smarty makes a ton more power and a lot cooler temps than the X2.

Well I did it today and upgraded to the Xillaraider 2 so thanks for your input. Now I think I am going to buy a Smarty and stack them. The main reason I haven't went to the Smarty is I like the in cab adjustability at the flip of a switch, now it looks like I can finally have it. I was looking at the Smarty PoD but still wasn't sold on the idea on how it worked. I think this will be the perfect set up for me.
Anyone want to sell me their Smarty and upgrade to the PoD version give me a shout. Otherwise I will keep my eye on the classifieds. AARGHH More Power!!!
